Libra Mermaid

I love mermaids! I love how this turned out. A commissioner approached me and said "Please draw me a mermaid. I want her to have red hair and I'd like it if you could work Libra into it somehow." And that was it. She set me loose in the wonderful world of drawing mermaids.

I love having that kind of freedom. I love drawing mermaids. I went nuts over this commission, which also helped me reinvent the way I draw mermaids, as well as settle into the color scheme that has become my preferred color palette (mmm, yellow ochre).

This one still makes me happy. I'm a little sad that she can't be on my wall with the other mermaids I've drawn and painted, but she has her own happy home now.
